Girls Night Snacks

Summer is almost over, and that means we are all going to be catching up on our girl nights! Here are some smart and healthy snack ideas to keep you entertained, happy, healthy, and having fun!:

  • Amy’s frozen goat cheese pizza
  • Annies Cheddar Bunny crackers
  • Almonds
  • GORP
  • Hanses Soda
  • Izzes
  • No butter popcorn
  • Yogurt pretzels

Cook how ever many pizzas you need depending o how many friends you have over, don’t make to much so you all aren’t tempted to completely overeat. Cheddar bunnies have a lot in one bag, so I would recommend getting around 2. Buy a couple packs of the soda, pop some popcorn, watch movies and talk!

These snacks are great to satisfy all of usual cravings, but in a healthier way. Most of these items are organic, and are processed in a better way than other packaged foods, plus they have no High Fructose Corn syrup, which is TERRIBLE FOR YOU.

Banana Blueberry Sliders

A lot of time, in the summer when its hot, we don’t feel like having heavy meals such as burgers. That’s fine! here is a delis recipe for banana blueberry sliders that are just as good, light, and healthy!

Ingredients

  1. 1 banana
  2. 8 blueberries
  3. 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  4. 8 toothpicks

Procedure

  1. Cut banana into 8 pieces
  2. Top with dollop of peanut butter
  3. Place 1 blueberry on top
  4. Stick with toothpick
  5. Enjoy!

These are great for parties, snacks, and treats!

Ice Cream Or Fro-Yo?

On hot summer days, the best taste in the entire world is something cold and creamy! Instead of getting ice cream, take all your friends to a frozen yogurt shop like TCBY, Cool Berry, or any other place!

Frozen yogurt has a lot less fat than ice cream, and, has the benefits of the probiotics found in yogurt! If you don’t know what probiotics are, here it is in a simple form: They help you digest food.

Like any other treat, you still need to be careful about your portions, here are the tips that I use when I get frozen yogurt:

  • Go more for fruity fresh flavors as opposed to heavy flavors.
  • Use fruits as your toppings.
  • Hold the lever down for 3 seconds, no more!
  • Only taste 2 flavors.
  • Make sure it is only half way full.

Stick to those tips and you’ll stay perfectly slim!

End Of The Year Party Snacks

The school year is almost over and that means beginning of summer parties! If you are hosting one, here are some yummy, healthy, and easy snacks to make for everyone to enjoy!

Chips and Salsa

Buy blue corn tortilla chips and pace salsa, much healthier than regular corn tortilla chips!

Pop Chips

Pop chips aren’t fried, so that makes them much healthier! They come in delicious flavors like barbecue, sea salt and vinegar, and much more!

Triscut Crackers with Goat Cheese spread

Buy an herb flavor of trisect crackers and serve with goat cheese. Very yummy and healthier than regular cheese!

Banana Protein Bars

Ingredients: 2 mashed bananas, 1/2 cup shredded coconut, 2 scoops vanilla protein powder, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, cinnamon, 1/2 cup almond milk.

Pre- heat oven to 350. Combine ingredients together and place in glass pan. Sprinkle one more dash of shredded coconut on the top. Cook for 30 min or until consistency of banana bread!

All of these are yummy, easy, and healthy! Make as many servings as appropriate have fun, and kick off the start of summer!

 

Watermelon Popsicle

It’s getting hot out and I know I have been craving popsicles! Instead of buying processed and sugary ones at the store, try this quick recipe:

  • Slice watermelon and use cookie cutter to cut out shapes
  • Stick shapes with popsicle stick
  • Place in freezer
  • Eat when frozen!

Yes frozen watermelon tastes exactly like a real popsicle! It is super delicious, refreshing, and healthy!

Flat Belly Snacks

Summer is coming up and we all want to have those flat abs to go along with our bikinis! Here are some great snack recipes that will help you get those flat abs! (Make sure you are doing exercise like pilates and cardio to help sculpt a great tummy)

Out At Starbucks

If you are out at starbucks with friends get a Petite Vanilla bean scone and a grande Iced Caffe Americano. It is semi- healthy and won’t add fat to your tummy!

At Home Orange Julius

Blend one peeled orange, 1 cup ice, 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a dash of cinnamon in blender. Pour in medium glass and enjoy!

Summer Kabobs

Put a skewer in a cube of watermelon, a pice of feta cheese, and a slice of cucumber. Repeat 5 times and enjoy!

It’s getting warmer and do you know what that means? ICE CREAM SEASON! Ice cream is probably the best treat during the summer, but sometimes I still find myself getting guilty after I eat it. So, I decided to try out something crazy:

BANANA ICE CREAM INGREDIENTS

1 peeled and chopped banana

1 tablespoon shredded almonds

1 tablespoon shredded coconut

 

PROCEDURE

  1. Freeze banana pieces
  2. Puree banana pieces in food processor
  3. Place in bowl and top with almonds and coconut

It’s that easy! The pureed banana actually looks and tastes like ice cream, but its just banana! This treat is healthy, easy to make, raw, and dairy free!
