Go Get Em’ Smoothie

Today I felt like I was in a lull. I had a really hard time waking up and getting out of bed, and, I felt like I was going to fall asleep standing up all day! My natural instinct was to go and get the biggest cup of coffee I could find! But, I knew this would just end up making me crash in the matter of a few hours. Instead, I whipped up an awesome green smoothie recipe to get me going. It worked amazing! Try this out the next time you feel like you need a pick me up!

What you need:

  • 1/4 avocado
  • 2 cups kale
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • tsp cocoa powder
  • tsp chia seeds

Blend everything up and drink!

DIY Spa Hacks

There is nothing better than feeling vibrant, energetic, and beautiful. Often times we use beauty products, facials, or other beauty services to get us closer to this feeling. But, those can be expensive! Not to mention that at certain places, the products they use aren’t really that great for your skin.

There are things that you can do at home that will make you feel like you are at the spa. And, this way you can apply exactly what you want. In this post I am going to give you a few ideas as to what you can do to give yourself the relaxing day you deserve.

Body Exfoliation 

SALT SCRUB:

1/2 cup of organic sea salt
1/3 cup of organic raw sugar or 1/3 cup of organic cane sugar
1 cup of room temperature coconut oil {best when it has a liquid consistency}
30 drops of essential oil

-or-

SUGAR SCRUB:

1/2 cup of organic raw sugar or 1/2 cup of organic cane sugar
1/3 cup of organic sea salt
1 cup of coconut oil {best when it has a liquid consistency}
30 drops of essential oil

Try these while you are in the shower! Take your time, and gently exfoliate all of your body. This will leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed.

DIY Strawberry Face Mask

You need:

Strawberries
Plain yogurt
Lemon juice
Honey
A knife
A fork
Measuring cups and spoons

Step 1: Cut and mash the strawberries

Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of honey

Step 3: Add 1 tablespoon yogurt

Step 4: Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Spread on your face, put on some relaxing music, and enjoy!

DIY Spa Bath

The best part about a spa is the atmosphere. It smells amazing, is very relaxing, and gives you a sense of peace. You can make your bathroom feel like this too! Find some lavender scented candles, a bath salt of your choice, and bubble bath. Place the candles around the room, draw up your bubble bath, and turn on some relaxing music (I love the relaxation channel on Pandora). Put on your face-mask, and allow yourself to relax!

Banana Protein Smoothie

Hey guys! So I’ve been having tons of smoothies lately! You would think that I would be having warm things but no, I refuse to believe that it is winter, so smoothies are still in my nutrition vocabulary. This recipe is one of my absolute favorites, try it out and enjoy!

Creamy Peach Oatmeal

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been out for a few weeks, tons going on but back in action now! Last night my neighbor brought over a ton of peaches from his peach tree, and this morning I came up with a delicious recipe for HEALTHY creamy peach oatmeal! Here it goes and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup steel cut irish oats
  • 1/4 cup water (hot)
  • Splash of unsweetened almond milk
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 peach

How To Make

  • Prepare oatmeal with the water.
  • Splash a little bit of almond milk in it to make it creamy.
  • Add cut peach and cinnamon.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

It is so good! I really hope that you all enjoy it!

Delicious After School Snack

When you get home from school, especially this first week, you’re probably wiped, and need energy to get you throughout the homework that you have. The best way to get some healthy energy is to eat a nutritious snack! Here is a delicious recipe for a “protein bar” made with all natural and easy ingredients.

What you’ll need:

  • A small baking pan (like you would bake banana bread in)
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup almond flour (available at lists of health food stores
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut shavings

What to do:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Mix ingredients together in bowl. Make sure you mix well.
  • Put tin foil cover on bottom of baking pan, rub with a little coconut oil.
  • Pur mixture into pan.
  • Top with shredded coconut.
  • Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until it is a cookie consistency.
  • Eat and enjoy!

This is so delicious, and easy to make!
