Subway is a very popular place to go and get lunch, but as usual, you need to be very aware of what you are ordering. Here are some great options to get when you are there, and they are light for summer!

- Steak and provolone sandwich on wheat (6 inch)
- Smoked Turkey breast with veggies on flatbread (6 inch)
- Chicken provolone and veggie sandwich on wheat (6 inch)
As for drinks, subway usually has Fuze products, or Sobe products, which are great to get if you are in the mood for flavored water. Otherwise, just get water. Soda can make you feel really bloated and big, which is not good if you are about to show off your swimsuit!
Here is another tip while you are there… skip that chips! They are just empty calories and serve no purpose.

Chips and Salsa
Buy blue corn tortilla chips and pace salsa, much healthier than regular corn tortilla chips!
Pop chips aren’t fried, so that makes them much healthier! They come in delicious flavors like barbecue, sea salt and vinegar, and much more!
Triscut Crackers with Goat Cheese spread
Buy an herb flavor of trisect crackers and serve with goat cheese. Very yummy and healthier than regular cheese!
Banana Protein Bars
Ingredients: 2 mashed bananas, 1/2 cup shredded coconut, 2 scoops vanilla protein powder, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, cinnamon, 1/2 cup almond milk.
Pre- heat oven to 350. Combine ingredients together and place in glass pan. Sprinkle one more dash of shredded coconut on the top. Cook for 30 min or until consistency of banana bread!
All of these are yummy, easy, and healthy! Make as many servings as appropriate have fun, and kick off the start of summer!
When you are out at a restaurant with your best friends, there is an easy and simple trick to eat healthy and not consume as many calories. It is…. splitting your meal with a friend!
You can tell the restaurant that you are splitting, and they will put the two portions on separate plates, so you don’t need to worry about that. When you do this, you won’t over eat, and the bill will be smaller because you don’t have to pay for a full meal!
Here are some great and easy things to split:
- Large Salads
And virtually everything else! So the next time you are out at lunch with a friend… split your meal, you’ll both feel better about what you ate!
Noodles and Company is absolutely delicious! You do need to be careful of what you get to eat there though. Here are a couple of healthy and moderately low-cal options when you go there:
- The Mediterranean Salad
- Thai Curry Soup
- Bangkok Curry
- Chinese Chop Salad
(If given option for protein, get organic tofu or grilled chicken)

Life can keep us really busy, and a lot of the time that means not having time to fix healthy food. Luckily, there are tons of healthy snack options out there that you can grab and go! Examples:
- Kashi dark chocolate and coconut bars
- Handful of almonds
- One honey crisp apple

Flavoring your own water!
Here are some delicious recipes that I use myself, and they are very effective:
Lemon Lavender Water
Place fresh lemon and lavender in a pitcher of water and let sit for about 30 minutes. Then put in a glass with nice and enjoy!
Slice fresh cucumbers and place in pitcher of water. Let sit for 30 min, drink and enjoy!
Chocolate Mint Water
Buy some fresh chocolate mint and place in your water, sit back and enjoy!
These recipes are healthy and easy to do, so drink up and have fun!
To help myself stay on track, I keep a Food Journal on me at all times. In it, I write down what I have eaten, how many calories I have consumed, what physical activities I have done, And how I felt after each meal. This helps me stay on track, not snack, and see what foods are serving me purpose and what foods aren’t.
For me, keeping a food journal works wonders. I know why I have gained wait and why I have lost it. It is comforting to know the reason behind the things happening in and to my body. If keeping a food journal is something that interests you here are a few tips:
- Make it small so you can store it in your purse or bag
- Write in pencil because you may go back and realize that you didn’t eat something you wrote down
- Don’t be obsessive over it, write when you have time and let things be
- Write down your weight, and weigh yourself, only once a week
- Make sure you write how you really feel after each meal
- Write down all snacking
- Give yourself a star if you ate good, and if you didn’t, write what you could have done better
Try it out and see how it works! If it clicks, keep it, if it is a hassle, find another technique that works for you (calorie counter apps, nothing, or pictures, etc.)
Alright people, it’s summer time!! Time to break out those bikinis and have fun! One of the hardest parts about summer, for lots of people, is feeling comfortable in their bathings suits. I am going to let you in on a little secret… you will look much better in your bikini if you have:
Yes confidence is key! Studies have shown that when people’s body language shows that aren’t confident in their bikini, they look much much worse! So, stand up tall, hold your head high, and feel comfortable in your own skin. Everyones body is beautiful in their own way and you know it and allow it to show, other people will see!

Peanut Butter Banana Party Sandwich
- 2 pieces of whole grain toast
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 banana sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Make a sandwich, but into small squares, and eat them through the entire party! It will keep you full and able to have fun!
